I reblogged a post pertaining to an issue that is important to me, as an artist, in order to have a discussion on said issue. By posting things on the internet, in a public place, you open it up to whatever attention that comes its way, be it good or bad. Does that excuse people being belligerent assholes about it? Of course not.Are they still going to be belligerent assholes about it? Of course they are.It is not the fault of anyone discussing the topic if other people decide to act immature and leap to the “defense” of someone who can handle their own problems. Anyone with any pull who reblogged this flat out stated they did not want the OP given any more shit about it than she had been already.Hell, it’s not even the OP’s fault that people are being rude to her. She did nothing to warrant that kind of reaction.It doesn’t matter if someone did something you find RIDICULOUSLY OFFENSIVE (and honestly this doesn’t even begin to tip the scale in that respect, and I don’t see why so many people are being flat out rude about it.)That does not give you an excuse to go swear up and down at someone and call them names and generally make them feel awful. Artists do not need their followers to white-knight for them, it generally makes everything a million times worse for everyone, and then the people being venomous about it just look like idiots.Ultimately people on the internet will do whatever the hell they please, whether or not it actually helps. And in most cases it doesn’t.So I’ll just say this:If you cannot hold a conversation about things you have opinions on and are offended by without deliberately being volatile, please stay out of the issue, because you are not doing anyone a single favor.I am now going to stop posting about this, because I am sure everyone is getting sick of it.

remember that when you take the time to go play Asshole White Knight, you’re only making me or whoever else you’re rushing to defend look bad, since it only comes across as us “siccing” our followers on one single person. SO REALLY you’re doing NOTHING except being an unwanted shitty mouthpiece for the rest of us.
